REVERSIBILITY

The inherently reversible character of the cross-linking network is founded on thermolabile bonds. Therefore, the de-cross-linking of rPEX will be achieved by heating cross-linked rPEX. The temperature at which cross-links are cleaved will be studied as well as the necessary time for the de-cross-linking reactions to take place. The use of additional catalysts to accelerate the de-cross-linking process will also be investigated. Overall, the optimal conditions for the de-cross-linking will be defined.
