CABLES FOR PHOTOVOLTAIC APPLICATIONS

Cables for photovoltaic or generally named Solar cable are used to interconnect solar panels and other components of a photovoltaic system. Usually, they are double insulated. Since photovoltaic systems are installed outdoors, the cables must be able to withstand extreme weather conditions (moisture, UV radiations, ...) and resistant to flame propagation also they must be halogen free and acid free. The solar cable shall comply to the European norm EN 50618 requirements, which will guarantee excellent technical properties (High Water Resistance, High Mechanical Stability, High Temperature Stability, High UV Resistance, high Flammability resistance), safety, and a long lifetime of min. 25 years.
